The Celtics secured its 2-0 lead with another far-fetched win in a season. A 22-point 76ers lead was no match for the Boston, and they made the massive plays down the stretch to clinch the victory.
Celtics’ rookie Jayson Tatum led the victory posting 21 points, marking his fourth postseason game in a row with 20 or more points. Terry Rozier, on the other hand, bounced back from an terrible start to control decision time and conclude the contest with 20 points. He has really scrambled on the road in these postseason (27.8 percent shooting), so the Celtics will rely on him to turn that around against the Sixers.
Jaylen Brown has finally returned to the court off hamstring injury in Game 2 to make a strike in his 25 minutes play. If the Philadelphia are going to turn this series in favor to their side, the franchise will be needing a better games from their two key players. Ben Simmons was a complete no-show in the most recent matchup as Al Horford and the Celtics’ first-rate defense totally shut him down. Joel Embiid will also need unleash his best performance.
Despite injuries to their roster’s multiple key players, the Boston’s 55-27 NBA regular-season record was the second best in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers, who finished with a 52-30 streak, defeated the Miami Heat in a compelling five games, becoming the first ball club in the East to advance on to the conference semifinals.
